5. English vocabulary
This is a big issue for many parents. Often the big push for Latin is so that students can learn English. Having suffered through three years of Latin myself, I have problems with this as a goal.
If you want your kids to learn English vocabulary, my suggestion is to teach them roots (there are lots of good books that will do this) and then have them read good literature. I have been teaching Greek over two decades, and the difficulty of learning Greek (much less any language) is overkill if the goal is English vocabulary.
Besides, English is not from Greek. We've talked about that earlier.
Having said that, we will point out as many Greek to English connections that we can, but more as mnemonic devices.
