What are we trying to do?

So what are we doing? We are learning Greek, the language of Alexander the Great, one of the languages Jesus knew, the language Paul spoke as he spread the gospel, and the language in which the New Testament is written.

But we are going to learn not just to read Greek but also to speak Greek. Learning to speak Greek is the best way to learn to read it, and it is a lot more fun.

In the process of learning Greek you will also learn a lot about English. We will learn grammar and vocabulary. "Grammar" refers to the rules that control how words are put together to make a sentence. In order to learn Greek grammar, you have to know English grammar. We will also learn a lot about English in this class.

Finally, we will learn about Jesus' world. I have lots of pictures and true stories that will help you understand Jesus and his everyday life a little better.
