Omicron

The last letter you learn is omicron. It is the short "o" sound as in "not."

The Greek looks like the English.
The name "omicron" means "little o." That's because there is a "big o," or "omega," the last letter of the alphabet.

Is there any difference
Is there any difference between the pronunciation of alpha and omicron? To my ear, the "a" in father and the short "o" in not are very similar. Maybe it depends on which part of the US you learned to speak English.
I have never been able to
I have never been able to hear the difference or to make it, so basically you can view them as the same.
