Case endings

This brings up an important point. Greek nouns are made up of two parts, the stem and the case ending.

You Greek word for "apostle" is

ajpovstoloV
  • The stem of the word is *ajpostolo.
  • Then you add the case ending to the stem.
  • ajpostolo + V >> ajpovstoloV.

When I am talking about a word's stem, I put an asterisk before the stem and omit any accent (*ajpostolo).
