Case endings
This brings up an important point. Greek nouns are made up of two parts, the stem and the case ending.
You Greek word for "apostle" is
ajpovstoloV
- The stem of the word is *ajpostolo.
- Then you add the case ending to the stem.
- ajpostolo + V >> ajpovstoloV.
When I am talking about a word's stem, I put an asterisk before the stem and omit any accent (*ajpostolo).
