Person and number
All verbs have a "person" and a "number."
"Person" is either first, second, or third person.
- First person is the person speaking. "I" and "we" are examples of first person.
- Second person is the person being spoken to. "You" is second person.
- Third person is everything else. "He," "she," and "it" are third person, but so is everything else, like "boat" or "car."
"Number" is either singular or plural.
- Singular means one.
- Plural means more than one.
