Jesus Loves Me

Time for another song. Practice reading the words out loud with the Professor, and then sing them together.

I am not going to ask you to memorize the words as part of your vocabulary yet; that will come in the next session. But I will use dashes between words so you can figure out what the words mean. For example, "to-him" is the translation of αὐτῷ in the third line.

Here is the first stanza

ὁ Ἰησοῦς με ἀγαπᾷ, Jesus me he-loves
ὅτι γραφὴ κηρύσσει· because Scripture proclaims;
παιδία εἰσιν αὐτῷ, Children belong to-him,
ἀσθένουσι δύναται. They-are-weak; he-is-strong

Do you see the dot after κηρύσσει? That is a Greek semi-colon. (The English semi-colon is ";".)
