Jesus and the accusative

So far most of the nouns that you have learned are pretty much the same. lovgoV and qeovV have identical endings. But not all Greek words are the same.

Names are sometimes a special situation. Some names, like oJ PevtroV and oJ =IavkwboV will form their different cases in the normal way (to;n Petrovn, to;n =Iavkwbon).

But other names do not, like "Jesus." Here is what oJ =Ihsou:V looks like in the accusative singular.
